8 days to go!

Yep! 8 days and I'll not only get to start a new life in a new place, but more importantly I'll be able to be with the person I so am very much in love with. Sometimes I wonder how this happened. But then I don't want to over analyze a matter of the heart, it's not an intellectual thing even though it still is something I wonder about.

So yesterday I took a long walk around town going down some of the roads I was riding my bike on last summer and thinking this might be the last time I follow this route. It's a weird place for me to be in, being that I have lived here in this town for 37 years. Wow! Is that a long time or what? Doesn't seem that long to me but it is. One thing in life is really true, that change is inevitable. Sooner or later all things must pass and no matter how hard we try to keep things the same, it will most certainly change one way or another. I think the trick is to know when to resist change and when to embrace it. Guess which one of those I'm doing?

Nice drive!

I went over to Sloat today to visit with Chris. We sat a while out in the sun, which really felt nice. It was a warm day until later when the cloud cover moved in.

The drive over there was also quite low key and relaxing. I stopped in Greenville to see if the Thrift Store was open but it wasn't. There were a few icy spots on the road on the way over but they were all melted by the time I came back in the afternoon.

At one point Chris and I decided to go down to the gravel pit and see if the ice is off the pond. There are some nice bass in those ponds and they were almost completely ice free. Normally as soon as the ice comes off a body of water the bass seem to bite pretty good so I told Chris he should come and try it, but I don't know if he will. Anyway, while we were there we saw a Forest Service vehicle drive by. When they came back down the road they drove over to where we were and it turned out to be Rene' and Scott from Doyle. Funny how the chance meetings happen in life. I just saw those two the other day when I was out in Doyle so to run into them again out here was pretty coincidental.

Anyway, it was a nice day and a nice drive but going through Greenville made me miss Karen even more... if that's possible... 11 days to go, but down to only 10 tomorrow.

13 days to go

Yep! 13 days to go before I get to see Karen again. Oh yeah, I'm moving too but that's secondary to the important thing about that day. It's all in perspective.

We have had a bit of sunshine here in the last few days and I got out for a walk yesterday down to Rite Aide and back. I like to walk the river trail when I'm going from one end of town to the other and I did yesterday and even sat on one of the benches in the sun and ate a sandwich. It was a nice thing to do even though it was a little chilly from a north east breeze.

Talk about the little things. Well, I talk about the little things all the time it seems since they always turn into the big things when magnified by memory cells. Try as I might to live in the moment, I can't help longing for the day when I can spend time with the lady I love. 13 days... that's it and my life will be a better place for me to think in.
